I have something against people who think they know everything better, have to share it with everyone based on rumors or twisted facts, with the only purpose of talking things down and drag things on a very unpleasant level.

Critism is alright, this here is not critism and neither is it constructive. It is a manifestation of hate and personal issues, without even the slightest try of having anything solved in a mannered or constructive way.

The author must be so blinded of himself, that he does not see that instead of improving the scene, he is doing the exact opposite, by creating such a low level of communication, personal attacks and ridiculing other people, without even an attempt to solve anything.

Furthermore I have not been contacted about those issues, with ( reading from the article ) the author being well aware of that I am the person to speak to if such issues occur. I won't accept excuses, if somebody took long enough to write an enormous flame/rant post, then he had enough time to figure out a private talk with the people in charge, and also translators if necessary. I personally find it ridiculous how many people – including me – have to waste their time on debating such nonsense on some forums, instead of proactively developing the dota competitive community, and furthermore I find it saddening that admins are coming to those topics to defend themselves several times due to unfounded allegations and seemingly bowing the pressure from a few dedicated people in the russian community.

Chapter 3. PriDe #5 - #9

MyM.Prides 5 to 9.

Metro is admin no longer (thanks to Army), same for milka cow.

Generally speaking, those Prides were quite quiet, although the tension was increasing and the problems hadn't really disappeared.

What am I talking about?

Once Prides had got worldwide recognition, its administration seems to have decided to make it a full-scale world championship. However, they decided to begin neither with the prizes (oh, 400 bucks prize? Thank you very much!), nor with the organization (oh, neutral host? Have you ever asked MyM admins to search for neutral host? You should try it for some unforgettable experience) but with greater penalties for rules violation (did I mention the rules are dumb? Now I do: the rules are dumb).

1.What you consider little, is for some people much money invested, especially in DotA nowadays. If the prize doesn't suit you, stop playing in the tournaments. What MYM is trying to establish is more recognition and a more stable format of the tournament, which would steadily provide the spectators and participants with games, competition and a steady prize purse, which got now raised in the PDL. Please tell me any other succesful tournaments in the world, which provide money prizes to nearly anything on a regular basis in a mod of some game? You're ridiculing yourself by spitting on the feeding hand, and are showing a total lack of appreciation of what people are putting into DotA tournaments. If the tournaments take too much of your precious time ( which actually is being held to the minimum possible by seeding teams like yours ), then don't play in it.

2.Hosts are an issue, but they are not the admins issue, and neither are they in any other tournament. Teams have to provide neutral hosts if they want to participate in the tournament, so get your teamorganizer/manager going. Admins can help, and also do help as much as they can, and are actually working on solutions to the problem, but in the end it's not the admins fault that the game does not provide servers which can host games, but that international matches rely on people from different timezones with very powerful connections, of which there are unfortunately not that many people.

3.The rules are dumb? You are dumb. As much as your statement helps me to fix the rules, as much will my statement help you to get your head together. To hold succesful tournaments you have to enforce valid rules. If there are teams which don't give a rats ass about the rules, or which show disrespect towards participants or admins then there are rules to punish them.

Did you know that WG were one step away from disqualification on the very first day just because one of the admins had lost their mail? The admins decided that WG didn't comply the tournament rules - they didn't confirm the result during playday and of course DKPhobos's post in game comments on site wasn't enough.

The only reason why WG weren't disqualified was their recognition among dota teams, they play at IHCS and MyM know them. If they weren't as famous, they wouldn't have a chance to become top-2 of the last Pride.

You know, the most favourite MyM admins' phrase is "rules r rules" (translation: we don't give a fuck).

Did you know that a team ( let's call them team A ), didn't report their game in time as any of the other 600+ teams could ( send an email to the administration ), nor did they provide any screenshots or replays, and posted the result hidden somewhere on a comment page?

In clear words : they did not report the result correctly. Why would now team A get an advantage over team B, C and D who did the same? Maybe next time everybody should report their games on prodota.ru and admins will take the blame cause an 'email was lost', whereas no email has been deleted from the gmail accounts since its creation. ( why would anybody delete emailreports? ). Team A even admitted that they didn't send an email.

Did you know that the admin crew investigated this case, and after researching it by using savegames etc decided to let team A advance with a slap on their ass? Do you know what this action means? It means that team A will learn how to report the games correctly just like anybody else in the tournament.

There were clear reasons behind those actions, and one of them to some certain degree was that scandals were not needed about reporting of results. And that's what you are making it actually right now, you're making a point out of nothing, as the team advanced and nothing happened to them.

The story with Lomiki team certainly deserves separate discussion. Lomiki were one hour late for their game with SK.Gaming and received deflose. Formally, it is just, they weren't there on time and there's nothing to discuss.

But...SK were ready to play that match next day and MyM admins not. "Playday is over, you must play games during the playday." Hello, is anybody home?

Team EMG hadn't come for their game, not in an hour, not in 5 but it is okey. Sirro said that there would be an opportunity to get that game played. Later. The fact that Lomiki didn't have any chance to play the game and had all the rights to have their defwin didn't seem to worry Sirro.

Double standart? Oh noes, just someone's dumbness, I suppose.

What were the main issues in early Prime Defendings? Postponements. The tournament being stalled over and over again by pushing the deadline more and more, since some teams were not finished.

What were the causes for it? Teams scheduling the matches too late, or to a point where it was simply too late to play. Some problem comes up, somebody's dog eats the cable, and the tournament is completely delayed - and with completely I mean hundreds of players waiting and teams having to play on a tighter schedule due to some teams which ignored the schedule. What is the schedule for if anybody can just break it? What do we set it up for?

A Prime Defending tournament, which is supposed to run no longer than one month, was often delayed over 2,5 months. How do I – or actually our sales team - explain that to sponsors who are actually investing money into this game and tournament, to have a certain amount of exposure produced in a certain timeframe. So what's the reasons for a 1 month tournament to run 2 - 3 times longer than expected? 'Oh well, some teams couldn't play at that time, so we had to bend the schedule more and more' 'Ah, how professional of the teams.. what a professional tournament, I'm surely going to invest into that'

So from this Prime Defending tournament the stance was clear. No more delays. This is the start time, this is the end time. Whichever team cannot comply with the schedule, that it agreed with by signing up – has to play another time, but not in this tournament.

MyM admins are trying to transform their tour into something official, formal, serious and important...into somewhat like WC3L for DotA. Now compare the quality of organization, coverage and prizes. Am I the only one to smell farce here? Admins are trying to make players take their tour seriously, like a job with (sic!) $1000 (one thousand north american dollars) salary for 3 teams 5+ players each. It must be a joke.

Money grows on trees I suppose, and Rome was built in just a few hours?

With every ongoing Pride we're working on improving the tournament, with the creation of a professional system, with setting unbendable schedules, with creating a tougher environment which makes the best teams prove themselves, with creating competitions on a regular basis we're striving to go towards professionalism, targetting a bigger audience and hopefully attracting bigger sponsors to invest into higher prize purses.

With the creation of national tournaments, now a league with possible offline finals, etc. I am sorry that we are not fast enough in the development to please everyone, but let's keep one thing clear : this is not a salary, your team and/or your job is supposed to pay you your salary. This is an online tournament with a regular prize purse, and currently not with the purpose of paying your apartment rent.

Do you know why VP forfeited to WG during the last Pride?

Just imagine:

We are taking part in ASUS Open right in the weekend when we got to play our game with WG at the same time. LAN Party with $2500 for the first place compared to just another internet battle for $400. I had dozens of talks with Sirro asking him to let us play monday evening or, even better, tuesday. Sirro was ruthless. He told us that we were delaying the tour and was quite determined to give both team a defloss if we hadn't told him results on sunday evening. Oh well, we decided that it was better to let at least WG have some chance and forfeited.

Congratulations on your participation in an offline tournament which pays out a higher prize purse. The issue of few teams participating in other tournaments during Prime Defendings happens everytime. However it does not mean that the tournament can be delayed because teams take other tournaments with higher priority. You can't have it all.

The point you are missing here is actually, that the tournament administration gave you the possibility of playing the game from the LAN party in an agreed timeframe. That you willingly missed the chance, and forfeited – well that's a shame and your own choice, but you should not blame the administration for the choices you make.

On a side note: do you know for how long Denmark had delayed game with Russia during the MyM Nations Winners Finals?

Two days. Those two days I was begging Sirro for and those two days I couldn't have. Sirro would gladfully give Denmark even more time. Fortunately, Maelk is a man of honour and understands that it looked like mockery.

How many times did we have the situation with mostly russia, VP, Denmark, MYM, etc. that we had to delay games in the finals for sometimes even over a week? What kind of double standards are you talking here about?

I have already mentioned in the top what the schedules are for. However it would be too sad to see forfeits in the finals stage, wouldn't it? The admins are there to regulate the games to fit the schedule as much as possible, but what should they do when an important game simply cannot be played on time? It is their duty to put pressure on the teams, but did you see forfeits in the playoff stages? Wouldn't that be a scandal? Instead you are complaining about schedule time of a match for a nation, whereas you can pick a lineup from tons of players. It is simply your choice that you want to play with a set lineup, and nothing else, and that gives you less flexibility in holding to the schedule.

Chapter 4. More, more, more!

Sirro: "No stream for this game, thx to our russian friends"

I am still eager to know in what way we made streaming impossible and why he is acting like a racist ass with all that "rusians are ugly, they are the reasons you don't have stream" craptalk. I still can't see any connection between his empty head and our nationality.

Thus he said during the Russia-Denmark winner final.

You won't believe me if I describe what Sirro was doing during our Grand Final with Ukraine!

So, we had found the neutral host (I think I have already mentioned what happens if you ask admins to search for host). Sirro came when we were in process of picking heroes. We remember that Sirro is always eating spikes in every game thus ruining the match and sometimes whole GGTV translation. So we asked him: "Sirro could you leave plz? We have another streamer". We wanted to call Maniac who hadn't got a single problem with streaming before.

Sirro refuses because he's the HEAD FUCKEN ADMIN.

Then I asked him a question: "Do you lag in games coz you are streaming or you will lag in any case?" He answered that streaming was the reason. I tried to convince him let us bring the guy who can stream. Sirro said "NO" and again his "RUSSIAN WANTS NO STREAM, KKKKK" thingie. I asked Army to do something and it seems it was Army that made Sirro spam (in the middle of the game!) "GO RE WITH STREAMER NP".

WTF IS THAT SHIT?

First of all, if an admin is ingame arranging streams and w/e, it is not your task to threaten him with booting him from the game. The admins in the tournament are there to run the tournament and make it as fair as possible, and for that you as a player should threat admins with respect. If you have personal issues with them, then say less than more.

What's the attitude of 'either you do this, or I kick you from the game?'

Second of all, if an admin tells you that you cannot use a streamer, that's how it is. If an admin wants to spectate the game, so be it. There's nothing you can change about it, it's not you running the tournament, it's the admins.

Even if it sounds idiotic to you in the first place, the admins have their priorities and thoughts behind processes, and unfortunately DotA is running on the warcraft 3 engine which limits spectators to only 2 slots which can be chosen by a host and either admin or streamer ( or admin who can stream / admin who can host ). If the admin decides that he will administrate the match to make sure everything is running accordingly to the rules, and saves are done in a proper way – he has every right to do so!

If you have a short temper – which I can see from the way this is written – then that is your issue, not everybody elses. If you cannot threat people with respect and talk down to them, that's your own fault. If you start the game without admins permission, that's also your own fault.

It's very easy to just say 'Hey, he said no to our streamer', but who said no to not letting him stream? Who actually – as a player – blackmailed an admin by using the host to regulate the game? You're speaking of unacceptable behavior, but for me your behavior is unacceptable, and for such behavior the warning was given. It is not your tournament you are participating in, and you are not the king on the big throne commanding other people.

Well, I admit that there actually was a portion of our fault in that Smile's case, I wouldn't say we were absolutely right. However, 4 players from SK team had played in MyM Nations and MyM Pride at the same time. Weird logics of MyM admins sometimes gets beyond my comprehension.

There is no weird logic in this ruling. The teams from the players are taken into account at tournament start, not after the tournament was already running for several weeks or months.

SK did not have the 4th player in their roster at Prime Nations 1 start, therefore he could play for sweden with 3 other SK players.

VP had the 4th player in their roster at Prime Nations 2 start, therefore he could not play for russia while 3 other VP players were in the lineup.

The ruling is there to prevent national teams using majorly only one team for the playerchoice, and therefore to create an unfair matchup, as a team who is always playing together would have a big advantage in the teamplay factor against other countries who cannot put up experienced teamplayers together.

What would happen without that ruling? Players could then temporarily leave their teams during playoffs, to boost their nations lineup for the finals for example. Fair, isn't it?

Chapter 5. The problems

Sirro foolishness is not the only problem since Sirro has assistants: m3rcy, dotabunny, rinoa, visarka, ssserenity, snake.

So, all of these are quite useless clots of protoplasm who never do anything.

Well, bunny/visarka/rinoa write various Match Tickers, news and other garbage. No problems with them although they are of no help to players.

I dunno what m3rcy is responsible for but I'm absolutely sure what ssserenity does - Nothing. During the course of tour I asked him about various stuff more than 10 times. Every time he gave me just-another-link-to-the-rule-"you will find it here for sure!" or sent to sirro "sry i am too small to answer such a question".

Snake showed himself in action. Once. He DISPOSED kS. Not to mention how he had to apologize two days later.

Those were our admins. You know, I can even understand Sirro who was the only one doing anything. He's having hard times definitely. But if you are a HEAD FUCKEN ADMIN and you wanna be a leader then find yourself better assistance. If you cannot, resign.

Unfortunately you are speaking from the point of a spectator – that means from outside. You obviously have no idea on who is doing what in the crew, and how much of it. And you're presenting obviously by putting one of the owners and shareholders of MYM/Regroup as s1rro's assistant. Furthermore you're focusing on how you interact with the administration, not on which people work how much on a daily basis with hundreds of the other teams.

Not only are you wrong in the assumptions of the crew size, task and involvement, you're furthermore disrespectful towards the people without a reason. Seemingly like a maniac lack of respect towards the people you have to handle on a daily basis. How can anybody take you serious when you present such behavior shamelessly in public?

So we got to the point. Problem is discrepancy between the status of the tourney and its organization.

1. Host support. Guys, we've got some problem with hosts here! Why don't admins just create a database which would include all the known good hosts?.. It really becomes a non-sense when we got to search for host for our game vs. Israel for 6 (six) hours. Israel team couldn't play on any host so admin decided to (sic!) reschedule the game for the next day. It must be the sandstorm which would stop messing up Israel internet or something. I don't get it.

As mentioned before, hosts are not the administrations issue in first place. It's your managers issue to arrange hosts if you're playing in an international tournament. There are some voluntary host services with which we have a cooperation to better up the situation with, but it's simply too big of a task for admins to handle currently. Compare it with WC3L where managers get hosts days in advance, or Counterstrike where every team has their own servers to play on.

This is not to say that we're not caring about the issue, we are working on solutions to help the teams, but in first place this is your own task to handle at this point.

2. Money/Time

Tour takes TONS of time, partially because of the host problem, partially because they're going to shoot us all if we don't do everything before the deadline. By my slightest calculations, MyM Pride 9 took 240 hours (10 full days) of real life time from me. I received $150 as a compensation (or I would get the freaking $400 in case we were first). Try to understand, dear sirs, that if you're trying to make Pride a serious tourney, you got to make it serious in everything at once. It's amusing to make people play in the manner you do for such prize money.

Prime Defending is unfortunately not a local offline tournament with an easy to define target group. It is an online tournament reaching on a global scale in a fresh game in a specific hardcore target audience ( forget neutral spectators ). If you can get the sponsors that are interested in promoting their products in east europe, southeast asia, australia, south america, etc. so basically worldwide all at once, then ask them how much they would pay for it before they slam the door in front of your nose.

We are currently happy to offer a steady and not really low prize purse every time we hold the tournaments thanks to our sponsors. However what you are asking for is getting the caviar on the silver tablet served – right now! - just because you have to spend your time on playing this game online in our tournament.

Look at how other tournaments developed, WC3L is currently in season 10, that's after 5 years – at season 5 they had a prizemoney of around 5000eur, now they have around 20000 split up – however that is for every half a year. ESWC and WCG? Once a year. Incup was every week, 512 players playing for 100 or 200 euro – right now there is no incup anymore as they stopped running it. Look at what happened with CPL, twice a year, weird&new games, a lot of money, now they are closed. Shouldn't even mention WSVG...

What will benefit you more; a steady and long progress, or prize jumpers with a short lifespan? You're a DotA player, your game consists of strategies, however right now you are not using any strategies, you're acting like a small kid who wants the bigger lollipop or it will cry louder in the supermarket. If that's a strategy at all, it's more of a 'head through the wall' thing.

3. Double Standart

The last item is the most scandalous one but it is and it's always been there. MyM Admins do anything by their will. Metro, for example, was known to say phrases like "I hate russians". Apparently, 2 strongest russian teams were thrown out of the Pride 4 by (guess who?).

Those teams were thrown out by me due to the actions they did, not the country they were from.

By the way, did you know that MYM/Denmark/Germany can get defloss only if they will agree with it? Otherwise, they get more and more (and a little more!) time until they can gather and play. Other teams (like Lomiki) are given a defloss in an hour.

Admins are giving each team hell, no matter what. You're just complaining right now just to complain as if you're the only team receiving an attitude. We had the same complaints from asian teams, from european teams, from american teams - but no, it's always something privileged, as if admins want to give better support to certain countries or as if the admin crew would be a bunch of racists.

Trust me, that's not just another whiner's crappy talk. I am quite known person in dota-world, Russian National team captain and I can swear by all my authority that it is all true.

Another curious example. MyM.Nations. Group D. Almost no games played since the group is a funny one: 2 asian teams+Israel. They've got lots of issues with net dunno why. Russia got on the first place, second place was obviously to be taken by Singapore or Malaysia. So imagine what, ssserenity (yeah, that guy who is never doing anything) asked me (no kidding, that was me!) who, in my opinion, should deserve play-off, Singapore or Germany. I was surprised and then questioned him: "how can germany be there when singapore won in the match against em?". The answer was bright and shined with some cool logics: "Singapore played 1 game less"

Oh shi~

What does this example show? That you're untrustworthy to be asked for your opinion in private since you're going to share it with the whole wide world just to have a laugh about it?

We had a long debate about this case. Why? Since several teams in the group simply ignored the schedule and tried to play everything on the – surprise – last possible date. Why would a team which doesn't respect the tournament rules - and due to that has played one game less – be allowed to advance?

It is a known fact that our admins talk a lot with renowned players in private, to discuss matters that trouble them a lot. That is not to make decisions, but to get more inputs in some processes. However, as I mentioned before – they do it in private.

One could see a possible connection between Germany having two MYM.DOTA team players and the admins willing to let Ger play next stage so much. I am absolutely sure, that it was actually LevenT who refused to play play-offs with that team and that was the only reason why we saw Singapore performance at all.

Are you still under the oath of you being the well respected person in the community that occasionally throws dirt at people around him, just to show the awesomeness of his presence? I mean come on, get a grip. This piece of writing is so full with disrespect as much disrespect as admins are used to get from you.

When was it the last time you showed respect to anyone? When was it the last time you appreciated what people are arranging here worldwide. When was the last time you tried to analyze something in a neutral, and not subjective way?

What are the allegations based on? That our admin crew has one person from germany? One out of 14 people from 10 different countries in the world? Or that one of the players in team germany is playing for the team represented on the website, although the tournament is running on the portal myMYM which enforces a clear seperation between teams and crew since last year?

Epilogue

What is this all about?

It is all about MyM becoming world dota centre (pride, nations, the upcoming league).

Of course, you may say smth like "pff, ESWC is near. everyone's gonna forget mym". Maybe, may be.

But have you ever thought about who will be judges at ESWC? Isn't it easier to take admins from the biggest online tourney series? Huh?

What if MyM will start organizing their tours on LANs? What then? What are we going to get?

We've got to develop and the main role should be given to clear-minded people rather than random fools.

I wrote all this to make society pay attention to the problems of the biggest dota tourney series.

Everyone sees the problems but keeps silent. Help me break this vicious circle.

P.S.

"Russia - Team warned for its behaviour in this edition of MYM Prime Nations. The warnings will be available in this and the next edition of the tournament. If a team is given 2 warnings, it gets auto-disqualified and banned from the next tournament."

Another genious decision from sirro. Imagine what, I do not know when and for what we were given this warning.

That ruling was done with my endorsement, actually I forced it due to the behavior of russian players. Either you keep it mannered, respectful and act by the rules the admins set up, or you're not welcome anymore.

This goes both ways, if you want to get respect, then treat people with respect and not this childish e-drama. I sometimes feel that it's kind of behaving like bored students at school, always trying to 'outsmart' the teachers.

When there was no definate ruling about player changes in the Prime Defending tournament, a whole team, which got disqualified due to using a player not on their roster, switched completely to another team in the tournament. This was disallowed by the administration and clear rules have been set up. The team was russian and the russian community reacted not by endorsing the actions and regarding the bigger picture of the matter, but by calling the admins russian haters.

When confronted with allegiations of a player fakenicking in a match for a russian team, the team members tried all kinds of excuses, starting from people sharing the same computers over thousands of km away, until explaining that whole parts of russian cities were using one single ip. After the team was removed from the tournament the russian community reacted again with calling the admins russian haters, since that was obviously the reason why the admins acted upon the team?

It went even so far that admins were kicked and banned out of other tournaments or pickup leagues, were threated like shit by everybody, were personally accused and shown with disrespect from the public, since the professional teams thought they could do anything and went on with racial slandering.

But if any racism at all, then it's racism towards admins; the same stuff happened over and over again when decisions were made against teams from other countries. The problem is, it's not racism that drives admins, it's the competition, and the fairness of such. Racism is an accusation which is done as last resort to hurt somebody.

Sure, there are always happenings which should have went the other way, but that's life. You can't absolutely judge everything completely by the book, can you? When you're live in a case, things look differently 30 minutes/60 minutes/next day later, or in retrospective weeks/months afterwards.

There are people who are doing a hell of a job to provide you with a competitive environment, to push DotA always to a new level, that are putting in money, making sponsors aware of the game, that are using countless of manhours in this game for the sake of promoting it. What are you doing in that process to help it's evolution?

You're a player, either stay a player or start behaving like a normal person and handle things from the spots where you can change things, and that's not here, nor in other forums. That's in a dialogue, as suggestions to the people in charge.

Neither does it help to attack the people on the top of the chain, nor does it help to attack the people working for them. You are neither helping you, nor the competition, nor anybody else. In the end what you're left with is just yourself laughing of what a big mess you were able to create, and yet another game going under due to people not caring for it anymore, because they lost motivation and the community is sunk in racial slander and constant flaming. I've been there, I've seen that, and I have absolutely no intention of seeing it again.

Look what happened to metro, look what happened to season, snake, etc. Those guys are gone, they did a hell of a job, did they do mistakes? Yes, maybe they did some mistakes, as everybody else would, but in the end – did it help you or DotA to condemn them, to attack those people publicly, to have them out?

With every active person stopping what they were good at, you are falling over your own foot, and a little bit down the stairs. You want better conditions? Start acting like you deserve them and start giving people credit who deserve it, because in the end simply nobody will listen to you. I won't tolerate that attidue, and I won't listen to any more of those public slanders, it's enough. Grow up and act like a grown up adult - only then you will reach something.
